Dr. Kelsey M. Latimer, PhD, LP

Dr. Kelsey M. Latimer, PhD, LP is a licensed psychologist in the state of Texas. Dr. Latimer earned her doctorate and masters of science degree from the University of North Texas, with a focus area in child/adolescent development and neuropsychology.  Her bachelor’s degree is from the University of Rhode Island, where she double majored in psychology and anthropology, earning the university’s annual president award and excellence award in both disciplines.  At this time, Dr. Latimer is Lead Psychologist of an Eating Disorder Treatment Center and Assistant Professor at a Medical School, and an adjunct professor at Kaplan University and a board member on several important organizations, including the Elisa Project (focused on promoting positive body image and healthy self-esteem of young girls and women) and the Texas Psychological Foundation (focused on developing young professionals in the field of psychology).

In her clinical work, Dr. Latimer works primarily with children, teens and young college-age adults, as well as their families.  Her work is largely focused on helping young people to develop healthy self and body-esteem, while also assisting parents in reinforcing these skills in the home setting. Dr. Latimer believes in using a strengths-based approach to empower young people to fully achieve their potential. She also believes in educating young people on important topics related to healthy self-image, including promoting positive body-image, development of healthy relationships, understanding micro-aggression and bullying, and identity and values development.  Dr. Latimer also has significant experience in organizational program development and training future professionals in the field.  Finally, she has conducted over 20 professional presentations at national conferences concentrating in the area of eating disorders, dating violence, social anxiety and STD awareness, in addition to numerous other locally invited presentations.

Dr. Latimer she resides in the DFW area with her wonderful, supportive husband and two amazing cats.   When she is not working, she enjoys time relaxing with her husband and pets, decorating her home, writing, and taking a nice walk in the park!
